All Schools Day Street Dance
May 12 | 8 - 11 p.m.
Enjoy a FREE concert featuring King Midas & the Mufflers at the corner of Euclid & Ash Streets (next to Hopp Sound & Electric). All Schools Day is a week-long celebration commemorating education throughout McPherson County.
Good 'Ol Boys BBQ
May 13 | 12 p.m. | 214 E. Euclid
Sample the best BBQ in McPherson County at the Good 'Ol Boys BBQ hosted by Stupka Chiropractic and Hopp's Sound & Electric. Cooking begins the night before so don't be alarmed with the mouth-watering aromas drifting across town! Cost is $10 for a wristband; judging begins at 11 a.m. with public sampling following at 12 p.m. The champion will be crowned at 2 p.m. This event is funded in part by a grant from the McPherson Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Movie in the Park
May 13 | At Dusk | Lakeside Park
The annual Movies in the Park series begins with the showing of "Moana." All movies are free. In case of rain, movies will be rescheduled if possible. Movie sponsors include Nex-Tech Wireless, Senator Rick Wilborn and Representative Les Mason, First Bank Kansas, Disability Support of the Great Plains, Hutton Construction and Home State Bank.
Concerts for a Cause
Thursdays beginning June 1 | 7 p.m. | 214 E. Euclid
The annual Concerts for a Cause series begins with a performance by local musician Ian Miller and benefits McPherson Arts Alliance. All concerts are free. Concerts feature various styles of music and proceeds raised through concessions and free-will donations are passed forward to local non-profit organizations. This event is funded in part by a grant from the McPherson Convention & Visitors Bureau.
4th of July Celebration
July 4 | 8 p.m. | Wall Park
Join the annual 4th of July festivities at Wall Park including a FREE concert featuring Everyday Lights from Salina, Kan. The band has a love for folk and jazz rhythms. Their unique instrumentation and improvised harmony gives them a fresh, creative sound that is best realized in their original music. Their ability combine a variety of musical styles including folk, country, rock and bluegrass always keeps the audience guessing and looking forward to the next song. Fireworks begin at dusk.
