The McPherson Convention and Visitors Bureau has grants available for non-profit organizations interested in marketing an event or attraction, hosting a sports tournament or coordinating an event. Each organization is required to match the grant money received.
The McPherson CVB Marketing Grant Program is designed to enhance marketing efforts of tourism-oriented attractions/events by matching organizational funds with CVB monies to assist in creating marketing materials and/or advertising. The total grant pool is $15,000. Any organization requesting grant monies must be prepared to match it dollar-for-dollar.

Deadlines: 90 days in advance of event
The McPherson CVB Event/Attraction Grant Program is designed to assist event planners in bringing performers and tourist attractions to McPherson. Grant recipients can receive monies to assist with up to 50% of the cost of the booking fee of a performer, exhibit, or rental of a facility to stage an event that will bring visitors to town. Total grant pool is $7,500. Any organization requesting grant monies must be prepared to match it dollar-for-dollar. Applications are awarded throughout the year on a first come basis until all pool money is awarded starting January 1.
Sports Tournament Grants
The McPherson CVB Sport Tournament Grant Program is designed to assist local organizers in planning and executing sports tournaments to attract outside teams to McPherson. Monies will be awarded for up to 50% of the cost of sports facility rentals not to exceed $750 or $300 for a hospitality room or $750 for officials’ salaries. Total grant pool is $7,500. Any organization requesting grant monies must be prepared to supply proper receipts and documentation and follow the guidelines.
Please note that an organization is only eligible for one type of CVB grant per event. If a series of events is planned, the entire series is only eligible for one grant.
