Since 1872, Arbor Day has been celebrated throughout the United States and schools have always played an important role.
Educators help children discover the social, environmental and economic benefits of trees in cities and towns. Lessons often encourage students to identify and plant trees in their own communities.
The City of McPherson supports continued efforts to educate children about community trees. To commemorate
Arbor Day 2022, all fifth grade students attending school in the City of McPherson are invited to participate in the McPherson Arbor Day Poster Contest. Students are encouraged to review the contest rules and engage in this creative opportunity.
Stay tuned for more details for 2022!
