After receiving the complaint or concern, an inspection is made within three days to verify there is a violation(s) of city code.
If a violation(s) exists, an Educational Notification Letter is sent to the property owner and tenant, stating the cause of the violation and a compliance date
On the date of compliance another inspection will be performed, if the property owner has complied then the case is closed, if not then it turns into a violation.
If the violation remains, then a violation letter is sent out with a compliance date.
On the date of compliance, if the property owner has complied then the case is closed. If the violation remains, then the city will contact an Abatement Contractor to fix the violation and the cost will be assessed to the property tax for that property.
