All Schools Day

All Schools Day was established in 1914 and is the longest running celebration of its kind in the United States.

The event evolved from a parade and recognition banquet honoring eighth grade graduates to week-long activities commemorating education throughout McPherson County.

Community members dedicate countless volunteer hours to showcase the annual event. The much anticipated parade is held the second Friday of May in downtown McPherson. Other activities include May Fete featuring student talent, a carnival in Wickersham Park, the Madathon (youth Olympic-style games), a street dance, a movie in the park and fireworks.

2021 All Schools Day Update

This year’s event will be a scaled-down version compared to previous years.  Our plan is to still make the most out of the situation this year.

The theme for the 108th Annual All Schools Day celebration is: “All Trails Lead Home”.  This is a nod to the celebration of the 200th year of the Santa Fe Trail, which is also this year.
