Maxwell Wildlife Refuge located northeast of McPherson near Canton, Kansas, hosts the annual Mountain Man Rendezvous. The fall event presents the life of explorers and trappers from the early 1800s. Activities include reenactments, craft demonstrations, survival skills and games. Food, arts and craft booths, musical entertainment and buffalo tours are included.
